MBABANE – SwimLab coach Welcome Nhlabatsi says the team is showing clear signs of growth as they bring in new talent and set age-group records.
Speaking at a training session at Mavuso, Nhlabatsi said, “Getting good records is a true testimony of growth.” He highlighted that SwimLab has a history of producing swimmers who have represented Eswatini internationally, including Smanga Dlamini and Luca Fraser.
Nhlabatsi acknowledged that the club has seen a number of swimmers leave in recent years, but he remains optimistic about the new generation coming through.
“I’m impressed that kids are breaking age-group records and that we have an improving and balanced team,” he said.
SwimLab’s young swimmers expressed enthusiasm for the sport, saying it helps them relieve stress and is entertaining.
“I love swimming because it keeps me active and helps me relax,” said one of the athletes. Another added, “Hopefully one day we’ll bring proper world records to the country.”
