ENPF Catsatsa Sikuwe campaign attracts close to 1 000 new members
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Matsapha – The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) Catsatsa Sikuwe campaign has attracted close
to 1 000 members, with the ongoing outreach programme providing an opportunity for the Fund to
educate members about its benefits and encourage them to update their beneficiary details.
ENPF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Futhi Tembe stated that the campaign had been successful, noting
that the response from members during visits to different communities showed that there was a
demand for direct engagement with the Fund.
The campaign had visited Malkerns, Siphofaneni, Nhlangano and Matsapha respectively, and is yet to
reach to as far is Siteki and Pigg’s Peak.
Addressing the media, she said the team had found members who were already waiting for the
outreach programme, demonstrating their interest in understanding the services and benefits available
to them.
According to the CEO, the campaign focuses on educating members about the Fund’s services, including
voluntary contributions, supplementary contributions and the free funeral benefit.
She explained that the outreach programme was also beneficial to ENPF, as it allowed the Fund to
identify areas where members needed more assistance and understand how its services could be
improved.
One of the concerns identified during the visits was that many members had not nominated
beneficiaries who would receive their benefits in the event of their death.
The CEO said the campaign was therefore being used to encourage members to nominate beneficiaries
to ensure that their contributions were paid to the rightful people when they passed away.
She noted that the nomination of beneficiaries was an important part of securing members’
contributions and protecting the interests of their families.
On supplementary contributions, the CEO explained that members could contribute as little as E50 per
month, subject to a maximum contribution no ceiling.
She further highlighted that members could make voluntary contributions, allowing them to save
additional money through lump-sum payments.
On another note, the campaign also seeks to encourage employers to register and contribute for their
domestic workers through an initiative dubbed “Love Your Help”.

Tembe stressed that employers should prioritise making contributions for domestic workers, explaining
that their participation in the Fund would give them access to benefits that could provide financial
assistance to their families.
She said registered members were entitled to a free funeral benefit of E7 500 in the event of natural
death, while accidental death attracted a benefit of E15 000.
The initiative is intended to extend social protection to domestic workers, who may otherwise not have
access to such benefits.
The CEO encouraged members to take advantage of the outreach programme to understand their
entitlements, make additional contributions where possible and ensure their beneficiary information
was up to date.
