The international DJ and producer continues to raise her profile on the global entertainment scene, with her latest booking placing her alongside one of hip-hop’s biggest names at the annual Hottieween party, hosted at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas.
This year’s celebration carries a circus-inspired theme dubbed Thee Circus, promising an extravagant Halloween experience featuring elaborate costumes, high-energy entertainment and celebrity glamour.
Megan Thee Stallion announced Uncle Waffles as the special guest through social media, inviting fans to join her for the highly anticipated celebration.
Responding to the announcement, Uncle Waffles expressed her excitement, writing: “We shutting down Vegas with my Queeen.”
FROM ESWATINI TO THE WORLD
Born and raised in Eswatini, Lungelihle Zwane has become one of the most recognisable female figures in the Amapiano movement, captivating audiences with her energetic performances, signature dance moves and ability to command a crowd.
Before becoming an internationally celebrated DJ, Uncle Waffles worked as a television presenter on Eswatini TV’s Studio1. Her journey into music gained momentum during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when she dedicated herself to learning and perfecting her DJ skills.
Her breakthrough came in October 2021 after a video of her performing at Zone 6 in Soweto, South Africa, went viral on social media. Her energetic performance, particularly her dance moves to Young Stunna’s hit song Adiwele, quickly attracted attention from music lovers and industry players.
The viral moment proved to be a turning point, transforming her from an emerging talent into a sought-after performer.
In March 2022, she released Tanzania, a song that became a major hit and further cemented her position in the Amapiano industry. The track helped introduce her sound to a wider international audience.
BUILDING AN INTERNATIONAL LEGACY
Uncle Waffles’ achievements extend beyond the African continent. In 2023, she performed at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, becoming the first Amapiano artist to perform at the festival.
She has also performed at high-profile events and attended major international entertainment and fashion gatherings, further strengthening her standing as a global ambassador for Amapiano.
Her appearance at Megan Thee Stallion’s Hottieween celebration represents another significant milestone in her journey, bringing the South African-rooted Amapiano sound to a high-profile American entertainment event.
