MATSAPHA – Thirty-five police officers drawn from various police stations across the country have completed an intensive Police Practice and Law Course at the Matsapha Police Academy.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service confirmed that the fourteen week training programme, identified as Course 1 of 2025, was officially closed on Friday 13 February 2026. Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr Vusi Gama delivered the keynote address during the ceremony.
According to the police service, the course was designed in response to the rapidly evolving legal landscape and technological developments shaping modern policing. With crime becoming more sophisticated and increasingly driven by technology, the programme sought to equip officers with updated knowledge, modern skills and the appropriate professional conduct required to address contemporary law enforcement challenges.

Addressing the graduating officers, Mr Gama congratulated them on successfully completing the fundamental course and reminded them that policing today goes beyond visible patrols and traditional investigative methods. He said officers must remain informed about new developments in order to serve effectively and uphold the law.
He further urged them to uphold the mission, vision and core values of the Royal Eswatini Police Service and to serve communities with honour and wisdom. “May you return to your stations as ambassadors of professionalism and exemplary colleagues. Strive to uphold the integrity and dignity of the badge you wear, and serve with pride and dedication,” he stated.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Constable Bongekile Mamba thanked the organisation for the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge. She pledged that upon returning to their respective stations, they would diligently apply what they had learned, maintain a high standard of excellence and uphold the honour of their badge with pride and professionalism.
