Mbabane – The Ministry of Public Service launched the 44th annual African Association of Public Administration and Management conference on Friday, October 31, 2025. The event will take place at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapa from December 2 to 5.
Honourable Minister Mabulala Maseko said the rapidly changing global environment demands that public institutions evolve to serve citizens efficiently. He described the conference as a platform for partnerships among government agencies, corporates, private sector actors, civil society, academia, and international development institutions to co-create solutions.
“The theme for this conference is Agile Public Administration and Digital Transformation for Citizen Centric Service Delivery. Agility means more than speed. It involves institutional readiness, a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and the capacity to adjust policies and processes as contexts shift. But agility cannot be attained in isolation,” Minister Maseko said.
He added that as host country, Eswatini is committed to advancing excellence in public administration across Africa. “Over the past years, our government has initiated several reforms, including Government In Your Hand, capacity-building initiatives, public-private partnerships, and open data policies. We are conscious of existing challenges and limitations, but these are not unique to Eswatini. That is why the upcoming conference offers a unique platform to learn, exchange, co-design, and commit,” he said.
The conference will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube to accommodate partners across the continent. About 700 participants from across Africa are expected to attend in December.
