South African midfielder Neo Maema has joined Tanzanian giants Simba SC ahead of the 2025/26 season. The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker was unveiled by the Dar es Salaam-based side this week, confirming his departure from the Pretoria club.
Maema has already linked up with his new teammates at a pre-season training camp in Ismailia, Egypt. The four-week programme is part of Simba’s preparations for the new campaign, which kicks off next month.
The move comes as head coach Fadlu Davids continues to reshape the squad following his impressive debut season in Tanzania. The South African tactician steered the Wekundu Wa Msimbazi to second place in the league and guided them to the CAF Confederation Cup final.
Simba are targeting both domestic dominance and continental success this season, and Maema’s arrival is one of several key signings. The club also secured the services of Rushine De Reuck, another former Sundowns player, as part of its efforts to strengthen the squad.
