MBABANE – South African Afro- pop sensation, Blaq Diamond, is lined up for the Umuthi Fest at Mavuso Exhibition Centre on October 18, 2025.
Blaq Diamond, a duo comprising Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa from Ladysmith, KwaZulu‑Natal, have risen to fame since launching under Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2017 where they debuted with their album, Inqola.
Over the years, their track Ibhanoyi earned the prestigious SAMA Record of the Year while in 2020 they released their sophomore album, Umuthi.
Lately, the Zulu Romance (2024), further solidified their signature Afro‑Pop, Maskandi, and isicathamiya‑infused sound for them to enjoy the loyal fanbase.
Event organizer Zulu D promises to be an electrifying mix of live performances. There will be DJ sets and high energy entertainment throughout the night.
“Umuthi Fest is a festival dedicated to celebrating the rich tapestry of South African music and heritage, and has grown significantly since its inception, drawing music lovers from all walks of life,” Zulu D said.
He further stated that this year’s event aims to spotlight artists who blend traditional and contemporary sounds where Blaq Diamond’s signature Afro – soul style embodies this fusion perfectly.
“Known for their heartfelt lyrics and harmonious sounds, Blaq Diamond has captured the hearts of fans from across the nation and beyond, with their electrifying music, thus making them the perfect duo to be part of this cultural celebration,” he said.
Patrons are encouraged to secure their birds tickets early to enjoy the best prices. Early- birds general tickets retail at E150 and VIP at E400, while presale prices range at E200 (general), and E500 ( VIP). Gate prices will be E250 for general and E 600 for VIP.
