Mbabane: Giants Mbabane Swallows announced on Wednesday that Christopher Ennin is the new club head coach.
The Ghanaian who was with Denver Sundowns last season replaces Zambian Honor Janza who parted ways with Swallows mutually last month. Immediately after his unveiling, Ennin said he was aware of Swallows ambitions to conquer Africa and that he was at the club to help the side fulfill exactly that.
Ennin is in possession of CAF A License and other coaching qualifications, including FAT A Coaching Certificate (Thailand). He also has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Cape Coast University. He has incredible coaching experience, having served in various capacities throughout his coaching career.
His recent job was with Denver Sundowns in the country.
“Throughout the recruitment process,the Coach demonstrated that, among other things, he fully understands the Mbabane Swallows football philosophy and culture, therefore the Club is confident that Mr Ennin will serve with great technical prowess at Mbabane Swallows. Congratulations to the Coach for joining a winning team that is respected across the length and breadth of the African continent,” club president Bishop Bheki Lukhele said in a statement.
Lukhele revealed that Ennin has already been given a mandate to ensure that Swallows goes to CAF competitions and this starts with winning trophies in the country.
Swallows reach back-to-back CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup group stage appearances in 2017 and 2018.
“I am aware that Mbabane Swallows is a winning team with ambitions to conquer Africa; I am here to help it realise this dream,” the coach said during his presentation.
