MBABANE – South African Amapiano sensation MaWhoo, born Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, is headed for the upcoming Eswatini Farmers Market to take place on October 11 ,2025 at the Malkerns Country Club.
This announcement was posted on all Eswatini Farmers Markets social media platforms.
This year marks the fourth edition of the Eswatini Farmers Market which blends culture, lifestyle, and entertainment in one, officials say. It is also said that the Eswatini Farmers market is all about celebrating the cultural phenomenon of the richness of Eswatini heritage.
MaWhoo from Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, who has carved out a name for herself in Africa’s booming music scene will be performing alongside other celebrated artists. With her soulful voice, emotional storytelling, and signature blend of Amapiano, Afro-house, gospel, and traditional Zulu sounds, she continues to rise as one of the continent’s most compelling voices.
Her musical journey began early, with her first recording submitted to a local radio station at just 11 years old. After studying at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a brief stint in teaching, she shifted fully into music. Her 2019 debut single “Umshado”, produced by Heavy-K, brought her into the spotlight, later leading to collaborations with heavyweights such as DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Master KG, and Sam Deep.
In July 2025, MaWhoo was named Spotify’s EQUAL Africa Ambassador, cementing her role as a powerful female voice in an often male-dominated industry. Her music, deeply rooted in spiritual and cultural narratives, resonates with audiences across borders.
By bringing MaWhoo to headline, the Eswatini Farmers Market not only celebrates music and creativity but also connects to wider African artists. Attendees are assured that they can look forward to an electrifying performance that combines rich storytelling with infectious rhythms, making the market a true festival of food, culture, and entertainment.
