Malkerns – London-based collective Kokoroko is set to take the stage as the first act for the highly anticipated MTN Bushfire 2026 Festival, scheduled to take place from May 29 to 31, 2026, at House on Fire in Malkerns.
The genre-blending band, known for their unique fusion of jazz, afrobeat, highlife, soul, and diasporic grooves, has been making waves in the music scene, especially after their captivating performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk. Rooted in the African diaspora and the UK’s jazz renaissance, Kokoroko’s music is characterized by infectious rhythms and horn-driven melodies that are all about joy, unity, and movement.
Songs like “Abusey Junction,” “Could We Be More,” and “Sweetie” have earned the group a global following, with their music bringing people together through vibrant, brass-fuelled grooves. The excitement surrounding the 19th edition of MTN Bushfire is already building, with Kokoroko set to light up the event with their energetic and joyful sound.
