Mbabane Alliance Church donates food parcels to church members

Mbabane: Blessed is the hand that gives.

Mbabane Alliance church has distributed 30 food parcels costing about E11 000 to members of the church taking to regard the effects that were brought by Covid-19.

The food parcels were handed over to the beneficiaries on Wednesday noon at the Mbabane alliance church.

The parcels were handed over by the church leader reverend Johannes Mazibuko.

Handing over the parcels Mazibuko red scriptures from the book of Mathew 25 verse 35, which says “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in”.

Mazibuko noted that the church not only preaches the word but also takes care of its members spiritually and physically by responding to the greatest needs of people with love and hope.

The food parcels included 10kg of Mielie Meal, 5 kg Beans, 2L cooking oil Assorted Vegetable Bags, Cans of fish amongst others.

Mazibuko said the food was bought by offerings which were collected during the prayer and fasting by the church which takes place annually during the beginning of the year.

As you know, Mbabane Alliance church gets into prayer and fasting at the beginning of every year, during that prayer and fasting, members are encouraged to bring all the savings made during the fasting and to bring all offerings, Mazibuko said all the money collected there, is then donated to the needy.

This year Mazibuko said the church opted to give to its members who were identified by the leadership of the church.

Worth noting is that over the years during this time the church use to make cash donation to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) including the Epilepsy Organization, Eswatini Association of the Visually Impaired Persons (ESAVIP) amongst others.

Operations Manager Maqawe Sibandze revealed that over the period of Covid-19 the church has contributed to the country in the fight of Ciovid-19 by donating E50 000 to the Resource Mobilization Committee. He said the church has also distributed food parcels to communities which includes Malindza, Mpuluzi, Mbabane Municipality, and local church members. Sibandze also highlighted that the church has also given hampers to individual families in Mankayane, Hlathikhulu and Khubuta.
