Mbabane-Eswatini’s medal haul received a major boost from swimming sensation Hayley Hoy, who accounted for five of the country’s nine medals, underlining her growing status as one of the Kingdom’s leading sporting talents.
Hoy claimed an impressive five medals, comprising one gold, three silver and one bronze, as Eswatini finished with nine medals in total.

Hoy’s achievement comes after she represented Eswatini at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2026, giving her valuable international exposure and experience on the major sporting stage.
The young swimmer is also among the Eswatini athletes benefiting from the LA 2028 Olympic scholarship programme. She is joined by Luca Fraser as the other Eswatini beneficiary of the scholarship, which is aimed at supporting athletes in their preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games.
