Matsapha- Vukani BoMake initiative continues to make a meaningful impact in rural communities, as 15 women from Eluyengweni celebrated their graduation after successfully completing training in sewing, design, and recycling.
The programme, implemented under Business Women Eswatini, equips women with practical skills aimed at promoting self-reliance, sustainable livelihoods, and participation in the growing green economy. Beyond skills development, the initiative also encourages environmental responsibility through recycling-based production.
The graduation ceremony was described as both empowering and spiritually uplifting, with participants marking the milestone as a turning point in their personal and economic journeys.
Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer (CEO) E. Nathi Dlamini reflected on the occasion by referencing the biblical prayer “give us our daily bread,” noting that the initiative demonstrates a shift toward self-sufficiency, where women are increasingly taking charge of their livelihoods rather than relying on external support.
The programme received strong backing from local leadership, including Umntfwanenkhosi Chief Lembelele, the Member of Parliament, the Indvuna YeNkhundla, and the Bucopho structure, who were acknowledged for their role in supporting community development efforts.
Special appreciation was also extended to Business Women Eswatini Chairperson Tokky Hou, whose leadership and commitment were credited with driving the Vukani BoMake initiative forward and expanding its reach to women in need. She was praised for her hands-on involvement in uplifting women across Eswatini.
Graduands expressed deep gratitude to Chief Lembelele for facilitating engagement with the programme, which led to the training opportunity. The graduands also thanked Tokky Hou for her support and dedication, describing her involvement as life-changing and unexpected, noting that her willingness to personally engage with their community played a key role in their empowerment journey.
