Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company has announced planned electricity interruptions across several parts of the country on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, to allow for routine maintenance and construction work on power lines.

In a public notice issued from its head office at Eluvatsini House on Mhlambanyatsi Road in Mbabane, the power utility warned residents to exercise caution during the shutdowns. “Members of the public are to treat all electricity structures as live at all times for the duration of the planned interruptions,” the company stated, adding, “We apologize for the inconvenience that may be caused.”

Areas in the Big Bend region such as Sithobela, Gucuka and Ngungundlovu will experience outages between 11:00 and 16:00 for closing span works. Gamula Sewing Factory, Nzevane High School and surrounding parts of Gamula are scheduled for a separate interruption from 10:00 to 16:00 for similar work.

In the Mhlume area, communities including Mbangazwe, Nyokeni, Mbuzi, LaMakhasane Primary School, Ndinda Farm and neighbouring localities will be without electricity from 09:00 to 15:00 due to project construction activities.
