EZULWINI – Cool Drop’s Emakhaya album was officially launched on 31 January at Mdzimba View Shisanyama, drawing a large crowd of local artists, creatives and music lovers for a night that blended live music with deeply personal moments.
The event took place in Ezulwini and turned the popular venue into a lively centre of performance and celebration, with a strong lineup of artists delivering high energy sets throughout the night. One act after another took to the stage, reflecting the depth and diversity of Eswatini’s music and creative scene.
One of the most powerful moments came when poet Lizwe Umlangeni performed a piece dedicated to mothers, paying tribute to their sacrifices, strength and unconditional love. The performance resonated strongly with the audience and shifted the atmosphere of the evening into a more reflective and emotional space.
Shortly after the poem, Cool Drop called his mother onto the stage, prompting loud cheers from those in attendance. Visibly emotional, the artist spoke about her role in his life and career, thanking her for her continued support.
“I love my mother so much, and I am truly thankful for everything she has done for me,” he said. “Even tonight, she sacrificed her sleep just to be here and support me. That means the world to me.”
The crowd responded with sustained applause as his mother stood beside him, a moment that underscored the influence of family support in the journeys of many artists.
Speaking after the performances, Cool Drop described the launch as a personal achievement tied closely to his life story. “This night means everything to me. Emakhaya is more than just an album, it is my story, my journey and my home,” he said.
