Manzini – Manzini Wanderers have parted ways with head coach, Gcina Dlamini, following a dismal run of form that has left the hub giants rooted to the bottom of the MTN Premier League standings, prompting swift action to stabilise the club.
Dlamini’s exit comes after an 11-match league spell that produced just one win, two draws and eight defeats, a sequence that steadily eroded confidence within the squad and intensified pressure on the technical bench. His only victory was recorded against Ubombo Sugar, while draws against Mbabane Highlanders and Sisonkhe offered brief respite in an otherwise turbulent period.
With results failing to improve and Wanderers’ league position becoming increasingly precarious, the club’s hierarchy moved decisively in search of a reset. The mounting defeats not only stalled progress on the pitch but also heightened the urgency for change as the season enters a critical phase.
In a bid to restore calm and continuity, Wanderers have retained Stanford Ncube to take charge on an interim basis. The club believes Ncube’s familiarity with the team and its internal dynamics makes him well suited to guide the players through the transition while a permanent replacement is finalised.
Ncube will be supported by two assistant coaches as Wanderers work behind the scenes to appoint a new head coach, with an announcement expected on Friday, 29 January 2026. Club officials see this interim arrangement as essential in maintaining structure, focus and belief within a squad desperate to halt its slide.
For the once-dominant Hub Giants, the immediate priority is clear: steady the ship, rediscover competitiveness and claw their way off the foot of the table, as supporters await a new chapter under fresh leadership.
