NGCULWINI — Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today kicked off the National End-of-Year Crime and Road Accident Prevention Campaign at the Ngculwini Sports Ground, marking the beginning of intensified efforts to tackle crime and road accidents during the festive season.
The event began with a roadblock operation, where motorists were handed road safety pamphlets and engaged with police officers about safe driving practices for the busy holiday period. Dlamini took the opportunity to interact directly with drivers, urging caution and responsibility on the roads.
A march from St Phelomena Primary School to the sports ground, led by the Police Band, set a festive and community-driven tone for the launch. The march attracted a large turnout of Ngculwini residents and neighbouring community members.
Also in attendance were National Commissioner of Police Vusi Masango, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, and senior government officials, all joining in the efforts to raise awareness about public safety in December, a month often marked by a surge in accidents and crime.
Dlamini called on communities to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies, stressing the importance of vigilance and responsible behaviour throughout the festive season.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) revealed that patrols, roadblocks, and awareness activities will continue across the country throughout December as part of the #Sikhona and #NaweUliPhoyisa campaigns.
