Matsamo – A group of investors has unveiled plans to develop an artificial beach resort at Matsamo Lake Tourism Park, marking a new chapter for tourism development in northern Eswatini.
The proposal was presented during a ceremony held at the park, attended by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Hon. Mancoba Khumalo, and the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Hon. Sikhumbuzo Dlamini. Also present were members of the Matsamo Board of Trustees, the local Member of Parliament and Chief, as well as representatives from the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), Komati Basin Water Authority (KOBWA) and the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA).

During the event, the investors shared concept drawings and detailed presentations outlining their vision to transform Matsamo Lake into a world-class tourism destination. The proposed artificial beach will be integrated into the existing dam infrastructure, forming part of a broader plan to boost regional tourism and investment.

The project concept features a luxury hotel, crystal-clear lagoons and a variety of leisure and recreational facilities designed to attract both local and international visitors. The development aligns with His Majesty King Mswati III’s long-standing vision of turning Matsamo into a premier resort destination capable of elevating Eswatini’s position on the global tourism map.
