Gaborone – H.E. Mrs. Emillie A. Mushobekwa, outgoing Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to Botswana and accredited to SADC, paid a farewell courtesy visit to the SADC Secretariat on 10 October 2025. The meeting took place at the Secretariat headquarters in Gaborone.
SADC Executive Secretary H.E. Elias M. Magosi received Ambassador Mushobekwa and reflected on the strong cooperation between the Secretariat and the DRC during her tenure. The ambassador expressed gratitude for the partnership, support, and collaboration extended to her throughout her service.
Ambassador Mushobekwa previously served as Deputy Executive Secretary for Corporate Affairs at SADC, where she contributed to strengthening corporate governance and institutional systems. Magosi praised her dedication and noted her legacy as both a diplomat and a former SADC insider.
The Executive Secretary also wished Ambassador Mushobekwa success in her next posting as DRC Ambassador to India, citing her extensive experience and understanding of regional dynamics as assets for her future role.
Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration, Ms. Angele Makombo N’Tumba, and Deputy Executive Secretary for Corporate Affairs, Dr. Judith Kateera, joined the farewell meeting to bid the ambassador goodbye.
