Manzini – Central Bank of Eswatini Governor Dr Phil Mnisi has urged the country to adopt meaningful curriculum reforms that will prepare learners for the demands of a changing world.
Speaking yesterday at the 5th National Curriculum Conference held at the George Hotel in Manzini, Dr Mnisi said reforms should not be limited to what teachers deliver in classrooms but should empower learners with knowledge, skills and values that match global and national priorities.
The event was held under the theme Working Towards the Education Global Agenda 2030: Implementing Curriculum Reforms in Eswatini. Dr Mnisi, who was guest speaker, stressed the need to align learning with real economic opportunities.
He called for two urgent priorities, which include the integration of financial literacy into the national curriculum and ensuring that what learners are taught responds directly to the requirements of today’s job market.
