Mbabane – Eswatini through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development (MEPD) and the United Nations (UN) have engaged in discussions on the Configuration Exercise of the new United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (CF) for 2026–2030.
The engagement aimed to build consensus on the structure, focus areas, and capacities required for effective delivery of the Cooperation Framework, which will guide joint efforts between Eswatini and the UN over the next five years.
The meeting was officially opened by MEPD Principal Secretary Thabsile Mlangeni alongside UN Resident Coordinator George Wachira yesterday. Presentations outlined the CF design process, including priority areas, expected outcomes, and proposed management arrangements to achieve the framework’s ambitions.
Participants engaged in dialogue reflecting on lessons from past cooperation and agreed on immediate actions and responsibilities leading up to the formal launch of the CF 2026–2030.
