Mbabane – Nsingizini Hotspurs striker Yekisizwe “Yeki” Khumalo has become the talk of local football after guiding his side to victory in the 8bet Trade Fair Cup and walking away with the Player of the Tournament award.
Khumalo scored the decisive goal in the final, sealing the championship for his club and further cementing his reputation as one of the most consistent performers in domestic football. The accolade comes just months after he was crowned MTN Premier League Player of the Season, making it back-to-back individual honours for the forward.
Supporters have hailed Khumalo as a symbol of talent and hard work, with many praising his ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most. His continued success has also triggered debate among football followers, particularly over his absence from the national team setup.
On social media, fans voiced their frustration, questioning why a player in such form has yet to be called up. One supporter wrote, “not so long he was given a prize for player of the year now player of the tournament but no national team call up, why? Are these national team scouts biased?”
