MBABANE – World Vision Eswatini has appointed Amos William Zaindi as its new National Director.
The appointment was announced in a press release dated August 18, 2025, and by Siceilwe Mngometulu, Chairperson of the World Vision Eswatini Board of Directors.
Mr. Zaindi officially began his new role on August 15, 2025, succeeding the former National Director, Tinah Mukunda, who has since been appointed to lead World Vision Ghana.
In a statement, the Board Chairperson welcomed Zaindi, highlighting his extensive experience. “We are very pleased to welcome and announce the appointment of Amos Zaindi as the new National Director for World Vision Eswatini,” Mngometulu said.
Extensive Experience in Development and Leadership. A Malawian national, Zaindi is a highly accomplished professional with over 22 years of experience in international relief, development, and sponsorship programming. His career has spanned diverse sectors, including Livelihoods, Agriculture, Food Security, Education (including edtech), Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Gender & Women Economic Empowerment, and Emergency Response. He has a proven track record of building strategic partnerships within the public, private, and civil society sectors.
Zaindi’s vast experience includes working in multiple senior leadership capacities in countries across Eastern and Southern Africa, such as Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone. He has served in roles including director, country director, and chief of party for various international organizations, including GOAL Malawi, Temwa (UK-based), Self Help Africa (SHA), Save the Children, Press Trust, and CARE.
The new National Director’s academic background is as impressive as his professional career. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby (UK) and a Business Management Degree from the University of Sunderland (UK). His professional qualifications also include an International Diploma in Project Management from Cambridge University and a Certificate in Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro). He also holds an Advanced Diploma and a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Malawi.
