MBABANE – Former Mbabane Highlanders midfielder Xolani “Papi” Sikhondze has been unveiled as the new head coach of National First Division side Stumbo’s XI.
The club confirmed the appointment this week, marking a fresh phase for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season. Sikhondze, once a crowd favourite at Highlanders, is remembered for his gritty performances and tactical awareness. He also played for Group Desportivo Maputo FC in Mozambique, where he donned the number 17 jersey.
After hanging up his boots, Sikhondze remained active in football, serving as Chief Scout for Mbabane Highlanders. That role sharpened his eye for talent and deepened his understanding of the game, qualities Stumbo’s XI officials believe will help steer the club to stronger performances.
