MBABANE – The Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) has handed over E30,000 to Enactus Eswatini, backing its mission to empower student-led innovation and entrepreneurship across the country’s tertiary institutions.
The funding forms part of CBE’s broader corporate social investment initiative, where over E500,000 was distributed to six different organisations last week. The brief handover ceremony took place at the bank’s headquarters, drawing attention to the role of the financial sector in supporting community-driven development.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of Enactus, representatives from the student entrepreneurship network expressed gratitude and pledged to use the funds to scale up existing projects that aim to build sustainable, socially conscious businesses in various campuses.
Deputy Governor Felicia Dlamini-Kunene remarked that the support was intended to help recipients create real impact in their communities. Enactus, which works with students to address societal challenges through business solutions, said the funds would contribute to building stronger teams and expanding the reach of their programmes.
The organisation has active teams at several local universities and colleges, where students run initiatives ranging from eco-friendly solutions to digital innovation and agri-business.
