MBABANE— Celebrated gospel artist, pastor, and entrepreneur Nduduzo Matse has reached a remarkable milestone in his career after being featured in a Grade 6 Social Studies textbook, a recognition that comes after 15 years of dedication to music, ministry, and community development.
The inclusion places Matse among distinguished individuals whose contributions have positively impacted society. Also featured in the textbook is Gciniwe Fakudze, the Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council of Mbabane, highlighting figures whose work continues to inspire and shape communities across Eswatini.
Reflecting on the achievement, Matse described the moment as one of the most significant highlights of his journey. The gospel singer noted that the recognition is the result of years of commitment, perseverance, and faith.
“It took me 15 years,” Matse said as he reflected on the milestone. He added that being included in the national syllabus demonstrates that his influence has extended beyond music and touched lives in different ways.
The acclaimed artist expressed gratitude that young learners will now have the opportunity to learn about his life story and contributions through their studies. According to Matse, the recognition serves as proof that one person can make a lasting impact on a generation.
Over the years, Matse has become known not only for his music but also for his efforts to nurture emerging talent. Through initiatives such as the Rising Star Talent Search and the Mother of All Gospel Shows, he has created platforms that have helped aspiring musicians showcase their gifts and build careers in the industry.
While many supporters still associate him primarily with performing, Matse explained that his responsibilities have evolved. In addition to his music career, he now serves as a pastor and businessman, commitments that have reduced the frequency of his stage appearances.
“My legacy will remain,” he said confidently, emphasizing the enduring influence of his ministry and music.
Widely respected as a gospel artist, producer, and revivalist, Matse has earned recognition both locally and internationally. Among his notable achievements is receiving the Best of Africa award at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards. His ministry continues to impact audiences through church engagements, corporate events, and outreach initiatives.
For Matse, being featured in a school textbook is more than personal recognition, it is a message to young people that faith, determination, and purpose can turn ordinary beginnings into extraordinary achievements.
