MBABANE – Local artist, Young Zesh is lined-up for a collaborated performance and a recording deal with South African artist, Yamke, born Yamkela Sigagayi, in Sandton, Johannesburg over the weekend.
The Sunday booked Showflames event is expected to be held at Hotel Sky in Sandton and a highly anticipated studio session with both artists on Monday.
Independent News caught up with the award- winning artist, Young Zesh who briefly had this to say: “l am incredibly grateful and excited about this opportunity. This weekend, I will be doing what I love, performing and creating music”.
Young Zesh said he was ready for what’s coming and will embrace it with open hands. The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) recently unveiled this opportunity.
From the recent Eswatini Arts summit, it is said that Stanley Khoza, Deputy Chairperson of the AIRCO Association of Independent Record Companies, worked his magic after he was impressed with Young Zesh’s performance and set up the deal.
Khoza has also pledged to facilitate international opportunities for Young Zesh.
“It is crucial that commitments made are fulfilled. This partnership is one of the tangible fruits from the Arts Summit, and we are grateful to AIRCO and Showflames for delivering on their word,” Dlamini is quoted as having said on Young Zesh’s Facebook page.
Dlamini further said the Council remains committed to growing Eswatini’s creative industries through international partnerships.
Not so long ago he posted on his social media stating that he was leaving the Upscale Live Management stable, for a couple of reasons including the mention that it did not compensate him well, allegedly, and that the company was no-longer abiding by agreement.
