Eswatini’s Minister of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, has praised the ongoing efforts of various stakeholders in addressing challenges affecting young people in the country. Speaking at the Stakeholder Mapping for Youth Development initiative organized by the Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) at The George Hotel, Nzima acknowledged the significant role different organizations play in tackling critical issues.
He noted that stakeholders are actively engaged in combating poverty, unemployment, disease, gender-based violence, crime, and gangsterism, among other pressing concerns. While the government has also rolled out various initiatives to address these challenges, he warned that without proper coordination, efforts could become fragmented, leading to wasted time and resources.
Nzima expressed appreciation to the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for their financial and technical support in establishing a coordination framework and a national youth development consortium. These initiatives, he said, will be instrumental in ensuring ENYC’s efforts are effectively aligned to maximize impact in supporting Eswatini’s youth.
