Ezulwini – FNB Eswatini has been named the country’s most tax-compliant large financial and insurance institution for the fourth consecutive year.
The bank received the accolade during the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) Client Appreciation Day held at Happy Valley Hotel on Friday. It has retained the title every year since the awards were introduced in 2023.
FNB Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini said the award reflects the bank’s commitment to meeting its tax obligations and contributing to the country’s development.
“As a business, we understand that faithfully declaring our taxes has a positive ripple effect on our people, our communities and the country at large. We are proud to continue holding ourselves to the highest standards in how we manage our affairs. We understand that when we invest in Eswatini, Eswatini grows. That speaks directly to our commitment to the country, ‘Sitintile Eswatini, futsi asiyindzawo,'” he said.
Dlamini said the bank would continue investing in initiatives that benefit the country while expanding access to its financial services.
He said FNB had entered the new financial year under the theme, Help is for Everyone, with plans to introduce programmes intended to reach more emaSwati across the country.
Some of those initiatives, he said, have already been rolled out.
The award comes shortly after FNB Eswatini became the first local bank to complete the integration of its payment platforms with the ERS Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA).
The integration allows payments made through FNB’s banking platforms into the ERS Customs Bank Account to be reflected on clients’ ASYCUDA accounts in near real time, reducing processing times for customs declarations and making transactions more convenient for traders.
