MTN Bushfire will return from May 28 to 30, 2027, marking 20 years of celebrating music, culture and social change in Eswatini.

Festival organisers have officially announced the dates for the highly anticipated 20th edition of MTN Bushfire, giving fans across the globe an opportunity to begin planning for what is expected to be a historic celebration.

The announcement was made through a vibrant “Save the Date” poster bearing the message “Twenty Years” and confirming that the internationally acclaimed festival will take place from May 28 to 30, 2027.

The 2027 edition will be particularly significant as it marks two decades since the festival was established. Over the years, MTN Bushfire has grown from a local cultural event into one of Africa’s most respected festivals, attracting thousands of music lovers, artists, activists and creatives from around the world.

Held annually at House On Fire in the Malkerns Valley, the festival has become synonymous with showcasing diverse musical talent while promoting cultural exchange, sustainability and social responsibility. Its slogan, “Bring Your Fire,” continues to inspire attendees to use their talents and voices to create positive change.

This year’s announcement comes shortly after the successful staging of the 19th edition, which featured memorable performances from regional and international acts and drew large crowds to the picturesque festival grounds.

With the dates now confirmed, anticipation is already building among festival-goers eager to witness what organisers have planned for the milestone celebration. While the artist lineup and programme details are yet to be revealed, expectations are high that the 20th anniversary edition will be one of the biggest in the festival’s history.

The striking anniversary artwork accompanying the announcement reflects the festival’s enduring spirit, combining its iconic Bushfire branding with a celebratory design that highlights two decades of music, creativity and community.

As the countdown begins, fans have been urged to save the dates and prepare for what promises to be a memorable 20th anniversary celebration of one of Eswatini’s most influential cultural events.
