MALKERNS — The opening day of MTN Bushfire Festival 2026 once again proved why the internationally acclaimed event remains one of Eswatini’s biggest cultural attractions, as people from different countries, backgrounds and walks of life gathered at House on Fire in celebration of music, art, unity and diversity.
From local entertainers to international visitors and performers, the festival grounds were filled with energy, connection and shared experiences, highlighting how MTN Bushfire continues to unite nations through creativity and culture.
Local comedian Dr. Shakes described the festival as more than just an entertainment event, saying it serves as an important networking platform that brings people together from across the globe.He noted that Bushfire creates opportunities for creatives, entrepreneurs and festivalgoers to connect, exchange ideas and engage with the international community that returns to Eswatini every year.
The welcoming atmosphere of the festival was also echoed by the Ferreira Borges family from Brazil, now based in Mozambique, who returned to House on Fire to once again experience the Bushfire spirit.
Having only missed the event once over the years, the family praised the festival for maintaining a safe and family-friendly environment for visitors.
They said Bushfire remains one of the few festivals where people of all ages and nationalities can comfortably enjoy themselves together while celebrating culture and music.
South African television personality Vacu, known for his role in Isitha: The Enemy, also added excitement after arriving in the Kingdom for the festival.
The actor encouraged people to join him at House on Fire and experience the unforgettable atmosphere that has made Bushfire famous worldwide.
Meanwhile, Franziska Pfeiffer of Caipira Brazil celebrated a major milestone after marking 10 years of serving her signature cocktails at the festival.
Born in Mozambique and now residing locally, Franziska said her journey reflects the international and inclusive spirit that makes Bushfire feel like home for many people.
United Kingdom-based artist Summerpearl also shared heartfelt praise for Eswatini following her electrifying Main Stage performance.
The singer described performing at MTN Bushfire as feeling “just like home,” applauding Emaswati for their warmth, friendliness and hospitality.
Her performance became one of the standout moments of the evening as festivalgoers from across the world danced and sang together under the vibrant Bushfire atmosphere.
As Day 1 came to a close, MTN Bushfire 2026 once again demonstrated its power to bring nations together through music, creativity and human connection, proudly placing Eswatini at the centre of global cultural celebration.
