Matsapha – The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture has announced the 3rd annual Eswatini Arts Summit, scheduled for March 11 to 13 at the Institute of Development and Management in Matsapha.
This year’s theme, “Creating Opportunities for Artists,” reflects the message delivered by His Majesty Mswati III during the Speech from the Throne at the Official State Opening of the 3rd Session of the 12th Parliament. His Majesty called for urgent creation of employment opportunities for young people to support the national goal of eradicating unemployment.
ENCAC said the summit aims to open sustainable pathways for artists and creatives across the kingdom, encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in the creative sector as a solution to youth unemployment and a driver of economic growth.
The 2025 summit brought together artists, industry practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders. Discussions spanned film and television, music, and festivals, events, and awards over three days. Key outcomes included South African production company Black Brain Pictures agreeing to cast Swazi actors in the drama series Isitha: The Enemy, Paramount Africa committing to acquire at least ten local films annually, and collaborations between local creative Young Zesh and South African counterparts through AIRCO.
Building on last year’s progress, the 2026 summit will continue to serve as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and advocacy, further supporting Eswatini’s creative economy.
