Lugongolweni – The Honourable Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Trade Manqoba Khumalo inaugurated the construction phase of the Ingelo Certification Scheme Cottage Factories yesterday at Lugongolweni Inkhundla.
The scheme, implemented by the Eswatini Standards Authority in partnership with SEDCO Small Enterprises Development Company, aims to help micro, small, and medium enterprises produce safe, high-quality products that meet local and international standards.
The cottage factories will provide entrepreneurs with compliant workspaces, modern equipment, and technical support, addressing challenges such as product quality, testing costs, and export readiness. They will serve as incubation centres across Tinkhundla areas, guiding start-ups toward full Ingelo certification, skills development, and wider market access.

Titselo Temaswati, founded by Andiswa Ndlovu and Lungelo Maziya, is the first MSME to benefit from the Lugongolweni facility. The company produces jam and dried fruits and plans to supply local and international retailers as well as airlines.
The launch was attended by Lubombo Regional Administrator Themba Msibi, Lugongolweni MP Joseph Souza, MCIT Under Secretary Phesheya Dube, and other dignitaries.
