Mabonwa Abulawe Records signs Lesia Musiq

Mbabane – Local hip hop artist, Lesia Musiq, has been signed on a five-year contract by Mabonwa Abulawe Records, a move which he says will elevate his career to new heights. 

Hailing from Nhlangano, Lesia Musiq was announced by the label’s founder, Young Zesh, who expressed great confidence in his potential of becoming a major force in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) music industry. 

The contract, which extends to 2030, marks a milestone for Lesia Musiq, who has steadily built a reputation for his distinctive voice and heartfelt songwriting. Commenting on these developments, Lesia Musiq conveyed gratitude.

“I feel grateful and blessed for such an honourable opportunity because opportunities like these do not come for everyone,” he said.

He said being signed under Mabonwa Abulawe Records will expose him.

“I am going to gain more experience in the music industry and I will be able to do my music consistently because I now have a supportive and experienced team behind my back,” he said.

He said he was committed to delivering quality music. He revealed that he is already working on new material under the label’s guidance, promising fans a fresh wave of songs.

Young Zesh said Lesia Musiq has qualities that made him an ideal addition to the label’s roster. 

“The reason we signed Lesia Musiq is because he has a unique voice, and he is very talented. His writing skills are excellent. We also love the SiSwati presentation of his work,” he said.

“This cultural authenticity combined with artistic skill positions Lesia Musiq as a promising candidate to become a SADC superstar.”

Zesh assured music lovers that they can expect innovative and compelling music from Lesia Musiq in the near future, before announcing the anticipated release date on what he’s cooking. 

“He is dropping his debut single on October 3, 2025,” Young Zesh said.
