Mbabane – The 2025 Confederation of School Sport Associations of Southern Africa (COSSASA) Games were officially launched today by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima.
The games will see athletes from six nations which are Eswatini, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Malawi compete in what Minister Nzima called a celebration of talent and brotherhood.
In his address, Minister Nzima welcomed the participating nations, emphasizing a theme of unity and shared heritage.
“We welcome all participating nations to Eswatini, not as visitors, but as brothers and sisters returning home,” he said, further highlighting that the games are a platform for shaping the future, nurturing dreams, and forging lifetime friendships.
Nzima also noted the significance of the games being hosted at the new Somhlolo National Stadium, which has been provisionally licensed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This, along with the OlympAfrica Centre in Lobamba, stands as a testament to Eswatini’s commitment to developing sports from the grassroots to the elite level.
The games are expected to serve as a launchpad for many young athletes who will go on to represent their countries on continental and global stages.
