Ezulwini – FNB has officially handed over a sponsorship amounting to E450,000 to the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF), demonstrating its commitment to supporting economic growth and development.
The handover ceremony took place today at FNB headquarters, where FNB representative Thokozani “TK” Dlamini met with EITF CEO Sibani Mngomezulu, along with other business partners, to finalize the partnership for this year’s Trade Fair. The EITF, a flagship event in Eswatini’s business calendar, attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors annually, providing a platform for businesses to showcase products, services, and innovations across various industries.
During the launch of the partnership deal, Thokozani Dlamini said: “As FNB, we don’t see ourselves merely as a business, but as a responsible partner to citizens and a reliable contributor to the sustainable development of our people and country. This is why we are intentional about investing in initiatives that benefit our people and nation.” He further stated that the bank has contributed a total of E450,000 towards the EITF, including E230,000 for the annual EITF Win-a-Car competition and E200,000 to support the EITF Business Seminar under Digital Transformation 2.0: Creating Business Networks.
On another note, EITF representative Sibani Mngomezulu said: “This partnership began in 2023 and has been a success so far, especially in the business sector. This partnership goes beyond financial support; it is about building a prosperous Eswatini. Having FNB and WesBank, long-standing financial institutions, involved brings invaluable experience and stability to our economy.” He added that the Trade Fair provides knowledge not only to businesses but also to the public.
During the handover ceremony, Olivert Mukhabela, last year’s winner of the EITF Win-a-Car competition, expressed his gratitude to the event organizers: “I was lucky to have received such an opportunity. It allowed me to grow my nursery business, all thanks to the car I won.”
