MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows Football Club has appointed club legend Wonder “Samba Jive” Nhleko as its new director following a transfer of ownership.
The club’s shares, once fully held by the late Victor “Maradona” Gamedze, were first transferred to Princess Lungile and have now passed to a new collective led by Nhleko. The ownership group includes seven other registered shareholders: Bongani Dlamini, Vice-Chairman Cyprian Ginindza, Silindile Mantabe, Mlungisi Masibula, Nonhlanhla Masina-Mnyeni, Fikile Fakudze, and Mfundo Zwane.
The leadership change follows a lengthy ownership dispute and aims to stabilize the club’s administration. The new entity, Mbabane Swallows FC (registered as an association), has submitted all required CAF Club Licensing documents, addressing compliance gaps that arose under the previous Gamedze-led management, which failed to submit licensing documents to the Premier League of Eswatini on time.
The new board is preparing for the 2025/26 season and reviewing key decisions, including matters related to the club’s home venue.
