AWAZA – Inkhosikati LaMotsa was recently spotted in Turkmenistan wearing a stunning dress made by the renowned South African designer, Thula Sindi.
During her appearance next to His Majesty King Mswati III who is attending the third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), Inkhosikati LaMotsa worn the Chartreuse iridescent Briyaza satin double breasted off-the-shoulder dress. It was a sunny day and the environment relaxed. The king complemented her with a casual red shirt adorned with lion imprints and blue jeans – with shades.
They visited the Türkmenbaşy Oil Processing Complex and the Türkmenbaşy International Seaport where the potential areas of cooperation were being explored, on the sidelines of the LLDC3.
Sindi who attended Standard Bank Eswatini Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival over the weekend and attested being in Eswatini for the first time, expressed appreciation for the support.
He said he was surprised to see one of his designs on the Inkhosikati.

Commenting on the Independent News Facebook page, he said: “That is a Thula Sindi dress. What a lovely surprise to see it in print.”
In an interview, the designer said he usually stocks ready-to-wear dresses at Africarise. Sindi said the dress is priced at E11 999 and was available at Africarise in Sandton. The designer said he had no idea who had bought it until he spotted it on Inkhosikati LaMotsa.
“…the clothes are available at Africa Rise, my store that I created in Sandton City. It stocks different designers from across the African continent. I opened it in 2019. So I had no idea that a member of the royal household had bought the dress,” Thula Sindi said.
The designer said people from different walks of life purchase from the shop. Thula Sindi said the beauty of having a store is that anybody can come in and buy anything.
“So this was just a beautiful surprise. I absolutely had no idea that Inkhosikati had bought it from us. And I think it’s very exciting. And it’s also a testament to the support of, you know, of SADC talent. So it was just a beautiful surprise. It was a very beautiful surprise. But yes, I had no idea. But I’m pleasantly surprised,” Thula Sindi said.
The classic dress has not only been displayed in the shop but is also available online at Thula Sindi website, https://thulasindi.com.
