MBABANE – Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has returned to the Kingdom following an official visit to South Africa, where she led a royal delegation to the memorial and state funeral of the late former South African Deputy President, David Mabuza.
The DPM departed Eswatini on Wednesday, accompanied by Prince Phuhlaphi, Chief Ndzabankhulu, Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo, Shiselweni Regional Administrator Themba Masuku, Prince Makhosonkhe and Princess Tikhontele, who is based in South Africa.
Mabuza was laid to rest on Saturday, 12 July, in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. His funeral drew regional leaders and dignitaries in honour of his service as Deputy President from 2018 to 2023.
Speaking on her return, Dladla said the delegation was warmly received by the Mabuza family, the ANC, and South African citizens. She said Their Majesties’ gesture of sending representatives was acknowledged with deep gratitude by the host nation.
The DPM expressed appreciation to Their Majesties for entrusting the delegation with the responsibility of paying respects to the late statesman.
