MBABANE – Investors will soon enjoy streamlined services under one roof as the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) prepares to open its doors to the public from July 21, 2025.

BOSS, operated by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and overseen by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, is designed to ease the process of setting up business operations in Eswatini. The centre will allow investors to apply for trading licences, obtain Tax Identification Numbers from the Eswatini Revenue Service, process permits via the Ministry of Home Affairs, and access services from the Registrar of Companies.

Commerce Minister Manqoba Khumalo paid a visit to the BOSS facility this week to check its state of readiness following a pilot phase that began in May. The service centre was officially launched on May 13 by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini.

So far, several companies have already used the pilot phase to secure necessary permits and registrations. As it stands, BOSS can only process work permits valid for up to one month. Applications for longer permits will continue to be handled directly at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Local businesses generating E2 million or more annually and foreign investors with a turnover exceeding E10 million will be eligible for the value-added tier of BOSS services. This will allow them to bypass queues and complete key registrations in one location.

The centre was established with backing from the International Trade Centre and support from the European Union.
