Immigration officers stationed at Sicunusa and Mahamba border posts have undergone specialized customer care training aimed at improving their interaction with travelers. Organized by the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) in collaboration with the Eswatini Government and IRDM College, the program took place at Phumula Guest House in Nhlangano, with Dr. Olivier Museka leading the sessions.
The initiative seeks to enhance the professionalism and hospitality of frontline officers, ensuring that travelers experience a welcoming and efficient process when entering or leaving the country. With tourism playing a crucial role in Eswatini’s economy, officials recognize the importance of making a lasting positive impression on visitors.
Participants were trained to better understand the expectations of tourists, familiarize themselves with what Eswatini has to offer, and serve as knowledgeable ambassadors for the country. Given that border officials are often the first and last point of contact for visitors, the training aims to equip them with the necessary skills to provide a seamless and memorable experience.
