Mbabane – The Premier League of Eswatini has finally recruited a new CEO in Kenneth Makhanya. The new CEO is not new to local football as he once served as the Chief Operations Officer (COO).
The Premier League of Eswatini has been without a CEO for almost two years ever since the position was left by former Premier league referee Simanga Nhleko. The CEO was unveiled by the Premier League Chairman Mark Carmicheal with his executive members at Sigwaca House. When the CEO was unveiled, he said. “Without steady streams of revenue, professional clubs cannot survive. We have learnt that at Chelsea after Roman Abramovich got suspended by the authorities the club is in serious trouble already. So even us here we have to live within our means, work closely with the strategic committee and find out how we can get the best revenue possible for our clubs so that they become very competitive. We will really have to work the ground”.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns General manager, Makhanya, has been appointed CEO for the Premier league of eSwatini (PLE) on a two-year contract. Makhanya was once the CEO of the eSwatini Football Association (EFA).
He is an experienced administrator with a demonstrated history of working in professional football at Sundowns as well as Black Leopards. Makhanya left Sundowns in 2020 and with his vast administrative experience the Premier League is set to turn things around.
