NAMBoard’s bid to improve stakeholder engagement programs

Mbabane: In an effort to improve stakeholder engagement programs, the National and Agricultural Marketing Board (NAMBoard) has formulated groupings of its stakeholders across various categories and scheduled meetings for engagement with them.

In a statement released by the organization, NAMBOARD request all its stakeholders to register online for the scheduled meetings on the Agriculture Market Information System (AMIS) https://www.amis.co.sz/views/home/register

Accodding to NAMBOARD, AMIS is an Agricultural Market Information System of Swaziland which intends to be the hub for all important information that can help Agribusiness in the country.

Registered farmers will then be able to see calendar dates for their stakeholder engagement meetings on the NAMBoard website.

Groupings

NAMBOARD has formulated stakeholder groupings with the aim of improving stakeholder engagement and advancing its strategic outcomes of all scheduled products as outlined in section 5 of the NAMBoard act No. 13 of 1985.

In terms of the NAMBoard Act No. 13 of 1985, it is mandatory that NAMBoard maintain a record of traders who import scheduled agricultural products in the country.

The stakeholders that are invited to register include those in categories of Fruit and Vegetables, Baby vegetables, Legumes, Banana, Maize, and Maize Products, Animal Feed, Sorghum, Wheat, and HWeat products, Poultry, Edible Oil as well as Agricultural suppliers. In those categories, participating stakeholders that are invited include farmers, Traders, vendors, retailers, and other organizations as well as farmers associations.

In line with its mandate, NAMBoard, therefore, endeavors at all times to promote locally produced products for exports to enhance the livelihood of the local farmers.

The National Marketing and Agricultural Board also facilitates markets for farmers in and outside the country and assists these farmers with production, processing, storage, transportation, distribution of the produce the sale of scheduled products.

These functions are mandated to develop sustainable farming business amongst smallholder and commercial farmers in the Kingdom of Eswatini, as well as to ensure the provision of food, economic security in our communities, and a well-governed import, export, and transitioning system of agricultural produce.
