It has come to light to emaSwati as a whole that unity goes together with success and that is brought through by the establishment of fan clubs.
People are much eager to know and to learn more about fan clubs because it has been said that they are a bridge to success and unity. This great news has been brought by the lovely organization projects namely Cospe Eswatini, Kwakha Indvodza and Eswatini Multimedia Network to name a few which aimed at uplifting and empowering women and youth in communities.
Communication officer Mr Ambrose Zwane said: “Fan clubs are an easy forum establisher and it is where organized followers share ideas in that way success is brought closer.”
That is not only the good news to tell, the juicy ones is that two radio stations will be established in two regions which are Lubombo Community Radio Station and Shiselweni Radio Station with frequency (104 FM) in the two stations. This is where the fan clubs will work hand in hand with the radio stations. However, the community radio stations are not yet operating due to delay in licensing process.
Therefore, the Lubombo Community Radio will have seven fan clubs led by the seven media coordinators in different communities namely, Mnjoli, Ntandweni, Malindza, Mdumezulu, Maphungwane, Tikhuba, and Matsanjeni, while the Shiselweni radio will have three fan clubs also led by the media coordinators in different communities which are Khubutha, Sandleni and Godloza.
What is more exciting about fan clubs is that they are run by fans who devote considerable time and opportunities are vast. Being part of the fan clubs does not just bring unity alone but as a member you can be chosen or elected as Board of Directors, you can also get to participate in the radio programs, you can get employed by the radio stations as well.
Moreover being part of the fan clubs creates opportunities to develop communities, you can also go as a group to the radio stations to seek help with sponsors to fund in the business. Vacancies and recruitment begins in the radio station.
Meanwhile the community radio stations are waiting to hit the airwaves and they have resolved that they are going to use the ten media coordinators to create some community Facebook pages and by so saying some have already been established. This will make it easier for people to follow and join the fan clubs.
One of the media coordinators Lindokuhle Hlatshwako explained that his page (Ntandweni/Hlane women and youth together for change) is already on the go and it’s trending. Skhulile Mavuso who is also one of the media coordinators said: “I am super excited to be part of this project and fan clubs.”
It is clear that this project is here to stay and the joining of fan clubs is still going to rise.
