Mbabane: MTN Eswatini has launched a trailblazing campaign dubbed #DoTheMost, to enable Emaswati to live their lives to the fullest under the new normal.

The digital launch and virtual expo of the #DoTheMost campaign was streamed on the MTN Eswatini Facebook page on Friday.

Concisely, the host of the online launch and expo Savior Kakama defined the new campaign as an interesting and exciting world of infinite possibilities. A world where you do not necessarily have to be in the office to get the job done. A world where school and distance does not clash and a world where the entrepreneur in you has the globe for a market.

Setting the tone of the campaign activities, MTN also offered free data-500MBs for all people who watched the virtual launch from the beginning to the end.

Giving a big picture of the campaign, MTN Chief Executive Officer Wandile Mtshali said in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the campaign, the company wants to ensure that its customers are able to do the most.

“At a time when the country and the world continue to navigate through these difficult times, it is important for us to ensure our customers that, we are here for them. So that as they do their work or any activity in the new normal, they must remember that, MTN is there as a digital enabler that will support them to do the most wherever they are,” he said.

MTN has also introduced fresh innovative initiatives for its different cadres of customers. The new offers are MTN Home and Mobile TV.

Mtshali said MTN Home is a product that will enable Emaswati to connect their homes to the fast and reliable MTN network.

“From the comfort of their homes, our customers will be able to use MTN Home products to access various services such as; banking. They will be able to easily work-from-home, learn-from-home, attend online church services, conduct their businesses and stay connected to their loved ones wherever they are,” he said.

Mtshali said the MTN Home packages were designed to be very affordable because this is what Emaswati need during this time.

Regarding the Mobile TV, Mtshali said it is an exciting product and they hope that their customers and viewers would enjoy it.

“Previously, you needed to buy a television set to be able to watch television. The limitation was that, you needed to be in a room with a TV set to watch television. Therefore, we are proud to launch an innovation that enables you to watch television on the go-wherever you are. You could be in a bus, travelling somewhere or away from the house, but still enjoy watching television from your handset,” he said.

He said this would also enable Emaswati to have access to more local content.

“We have enabled the platform and our network so that people can bring in local content and we will then put it out there to the rest of the public, so that they can then be able to enjoy it and get the latest news on their mobile devices,” said Mtshali.  He said they would ensure that access to the Mobile TV is affordable.

Mobile TV

MTN Chief Marketing Officer Mncedzi Ngomane said the introduction of the mobile TV is a massive milestone that the nation should be proud of, “we are excited by the partnership with Eswatini TV that has enabled us bring up this proposition to Emaswati.”

“This presents an opportunity that the close to 600 000 Emaswati that have smartphones, through the comfort of their homes or wherever they are, they can just go to the Eswatini TV app watch and stream local content.” Eswatini can still do the most amidst the ongoing challenges

MTN Chief Marketing Officer Mncedzi Ngomane says the whole idea of the new campaign comes from the appreciation that 2020 was a very difficult year and that the New Year began with the same challenges that the country faced in the previous year.

“The idea was to say, under these circumstances, how can we get Emaswati to do the most out of the situation? As much as things still look gloomy, we are saying there is still an opportunity for you to do the most out of the situation,” he said.

“If you look at the different propositions that are part of this campaign, you can see that we are really saying to Emaswati, here is an opportunity for you to do the most using the brighter side.”

Over and above the home proposition, Ngomane said they have increased the MTN MoMo limit from E200 to E300.

He said they are expanding this opportunity because we are cognizant of the fact that, the needs for their customers have also expanded.

Ngomane further vowed that they would continue working with their partners to see how they can carry on making this offer better going forward.

Adding, he said they are cognizant of the fact that since it is the beginning of the year, stokvels are making collection arrangements, therefore, they are availing their MTN MoMo platform to enable stokvels to collect their money easier and safer.

He said the most exciting part under the campaign, was that, they have lined up interesting data promotions where Emaswati will be winning smartphones and vouchers.

“This is us saying, here is an opportunity for you to do the most in a difficult year,” said Ngomane.

Ngomane said they have also launched personalized offers for each MTN customer that they can access by dialing *101#.

“We want to be a digital enabler in the Kingdom of Eswatini and all these propositions are really talking to that,” he said.
