Prince Sicalo among newly appointed Principal Secretaries

Mbabane:  King Mswati III has appointed new Principal Secretaries for different ministries and his eldest son Prince Sicalo is amongst them.

Prince Sicalo is now the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence while The King is the Commander-in-chief of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force.

The appointment was announced by Prime Minister Ambrose Dlamini during a press briefing held at the Cabinet offices on Saturday. Prince Sicalo’s appointment comes shortly after four (4) days the King appointed Prince Lindani as Economic Director at the King’s office.

The two princes are serving in the Eswatini Umbutfo Defence Force and they were both promoted November 1, 2011 from the rank of 2nd Lieutenants to that of Lieutenants.

The other newly appointed Principal Secretaries are Victor Nxumalo as the Secretary to the Cabinet, Lindiwe Mbingo as the PS in the Prime Minister’s office, Melusi Masuku as the PS in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

John Hlophe and Dorcas Dlamini are new Principal Secreteries in the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy respectively. Dorcas Dlamini is replacing Winnie Stewart who recently retired while John Hlophe has been acting in the ministry of Tourism for some time. 

The newly appointed Principal Secretaries will be assuming office with immediate effect. “We are grateful to His Majesty for making and blessing this appointments.” Said the Prime Minister.
