In celebrating World Post Day, the MD highlighted that as a company, they recognize the corporation’s employees, in particular postal workers who continue to work and deliver mail despite the difficult situation caused by the COVID 19 restrictions.

Announcing the launch of new services Dlamini said: “Eswatini Post is happy to launch two new services on this World Post Day which aim at meeting customer needs in light of post Covid-19 era, and the emergence of e-commerce. These are ‘Tracked service’ and ‘Door-to-door Delivery Service’

Tracked Service

The tracked service is intended to assist customers track their ordinary posted items from point of posting to delivery, where the sender chooses to have them tracked. With this service, a barcode is fixed on the item and the item gets scanned at various points of its journey. He said some items may have ‘Tracked item’ red sticker – not yet available in Eswatini.

The service differs from known recorded services such as registered mail, in that proof of delivery is not mandatory. In the service he said the customer will get SMS notification to collect item at post offices.

He said delivery on premises shall be optional, for customers to track their items they can go to: www.eptc.co.sz  go to quick links, choose global track and trace and enter barcode number.

The benefits of tracked service include peace of mind for both sender and recipient, as they can trace their posted item from point to point, and that the item has reached its delivery point; this will help reduce time spent filing enquiries and  sense of security.

Door-to-door delivery service

Unpacking the door to door service, Dlamini said this offers the customer a choice to have their items delivered at their premises. For a start, the service will be offered along the Mbabane-Manzini Corridor at a small fee. He said details of the features of this service will be communicated soon.
