KWALUSENI – Rising South African Amapiano sensation Thatohatsi has been announced as the headline act for the highly anticipated Mr & Mrs UNESWA 2026 pageant, set to take place at the Sports Emporium on June 5.
Born Thato Raphadi, Thatohatsi is quickly becoming one of South Africa’s most sought-after vocalists. Known for her emotive, church-influenced vocals and breakout hit Xolele, the singer has earned praise for her raw and soulful sound, which has seen her collaborate with some of Amapiano’s biggest names.
Often referred to as a “roaring singer” and one of the genre’s most exciting emerging voices, Thatohatsi has worked alongside industry heavyweights including DJ Maphorisa, Kelvin Momo, Major League DJz, and ShaunMusiq. She has also gained recognition for her contributions to major projects such as Bab’Motha, further cementing her status as a rising star in the South African music scene.
Her inclusion in the Mr & Mrs UNESWA 2026 lineup is expected to add significant appeal to the annual pageant, which celebrates beauty, leadership, confidence and talent among university students.
The event, presented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (SOOSHY), will also feature performances from Obsession, Lady Zee, Ayacity, Bandora, Sbu De Drum DJ, Corrosive, Shauzy Maradona, DJ Easy, Bongswa, Emster, Coolboy and Dlala Captain. Popular MC Sintour will host the evening.
With Thatohatsi leading a strong entertainment lineup, organisers are expecting a vibrant atmosphere and a strong turnout from students and music lovers alike.
Tickets are available at E50 for students and E150 for non-students, with festivities scheduled to begin at 6pm.
As anticipation builds, attendees can look forward to an evening where pageantry and music collide, headlined by one of Amapiano’s fastest-rising vocal talents.
