MALKERNS – Prime Minister Russell Dlamini joined thousands of festival-goers at the opening of the 19th edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival on Friday, as one of Africa’s premier event got underway at House On Fire in the Malkerns Valley.
The festival, which runs from May 29 to 31, 2026, attracted visitors from across the globe and transformed the picturesque venue into a vibrant hub of music, arts and cultural exchange.
During his visit, Dlamini took time to tour various exhibition stalls and engage with exhibitors and business leaders participating in the event.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Liqoqo Chairman Paul Dlamini as he interacted with festival stakeholders and explored some of the offerings on display.
The annual festival has grown into one of Eswatini’s biggest tourism attractions, drawing international visitors while providing a platform for local entrepreneurs, artists and businesses.
The Prime Minister’s presence highlighted the significance of the festival to the country’s tourism and creative industries.
Over the years, MTN Bushfire has become a key contributor to the local economy through tourism spending, employment opportunities and promotion of Eswatini as a cultural destination.
Visitors attending the event were treated to a colourful atmosphere filled with music, arts, food and cultural exhibitions.
Festival organisers have once again brought together performers and audiences from different parts of the world, reinforcing Bushfire’s reputation as a celebration of diversity and creativity.
The festival continues throughout the weekend with performances spread across multiple stages and a variety of family-friendly activities scheduled for attendees.
