The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Senator Pholile Shakantu was pleased to formally receive the Letters of Appointment for Mr. Alankar Malviya, the newly appointed UNAIDS Country Director and Representative for the Multi-Country Office (Eswatini, Lesotho and South Africa).
During the audience, the Minister reaffirmed Eswatini’s unwavering commitment to the global goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. Mr. Malviya’s extensive expertise in international development and public health will be instrumental as the nation transitions from epidemic control to sustainable health security.
Eswatini celebrates its milestone of exceeding the 95-95-95 targets and looks forward to working with Mr. Malviya to address remaining gaps, particularly among adolescent girls, young women and vulnerable populations.
